Sark Tourism celebrates the launch of new Sark commemorative stamps

Sark Tourism is delighted to celebrate the release of Guernsey Post’s latest commemorative stamp issue dedicated to Sark on 1st April 2026 - the third collection to honour our island’s unspoilt beauty, distinctive landscapes and unique way of life.

The eight-stamp series feature new watercolour artworks by Sark-based artist Louise Hill, whose evocative paintings capture everything from Sark’s dramatic cliffs and remote coves to intimate scenes of rural island living. Each design offers a glimpse into the places, stories and traditions that shape the island’s character.

Among the featured scenes are the sweeping sands of La Grande Grève, the midsummer glow of Port du Moulin, the iconic ridge of La Coupée, the peaceful Buddhist Carving, and the rugged coastal formations around Les Autelets and Brecqhou. The collection also highlights Sark’s maritime heritage through Creux Harbour and the steadfast Point Robert Lighthouse, while celebrating rural life with a pastoral view across La Peigneurie. These stamps not only represent beautiful keepsakes but also carry the spirit of Sark to every corner of the world.

Local artist Louise added:

‘I feel honoured and delighted that some of my Sark landscape paintings have been selected to feature on this latest set of Sark stamps. Having my artwork reproduced on stamps has long been a wish; seeing it finally happen makes me very happy. I’m also thrilled for Sark that it finally has its very own stamps.

Each painting featured in the collection captures an iconic Sark landmark; all places of extraordinary beauty that hold a special place in the island’s character and charm.

These are scenes that local residents treasure, and visitors must see. I never tire of painting the infinite different scenes, in different lights and different seasons, offered up by this special island.

If you would like to explore more of my work, I warmly invite you to visit my website, www.louisehill.net, where you can discover further paintings and learn more about my artistic journey.’

The Sark launch is set to take place at the Art Gallery on 1st April 2026, with the community invited to join Louise for this special event, where we will unveil this inspirational collection. More details on this to follow.
