Komoot is one of the leading platforms for outdoor enthusiasts to find, plan, navigate and share new adventures. With a community of over 50 million users and a strong leisure-focused audience, Komoot provides an ideal platform for showcasing the Islands of Guernsey to people actively seeking new outdoor experiences.
We’ve been collaborating with our partners at Visit Alderney, Sark, and Herm and have now launched two dedicated ‘collections’ within the app — one focused on walking and the other on cycling — each featuring 10 routes across the Islands.
We have used the sponsored collections feature to target audiences in Brittany, Normandy, and Paris, serving adverts to Komoot users. The aim is to reach users directly in the inspiration-seeking phase, allowing us to engage potential visitors while they are actively looking for ideas, planning their next adventure and deciding where to go.
Since launching at the beginning of August, we’ve already seen encouraging engagement particularly with the French market. The collections have already gathered more than 243 000 views, 2005 promoted clicks, 73 saves from users and more than 100 followers signed up our profile so far.
We’d encourage you to point customers with an interest in walking and cycling in the direction of the collections. The next phase is to build a new running collection, showcasing some of our key running events across the year.
