Aurigny launches “kids fly fare-free” offer on Jersey–Guernsey route to support families for half term

Aurigny launches “kids fly fare-free” offer on Jersey–Guernsey route to support families for half term

The offer applies to flights on the Jersey - Guernsey route between 14 and 23 February, coinciding with the half-term school holiday, and must be booked by 19 February. By removing the cost of children’s fares, Aurigny aims to make short inter-island trips more accessible for families seeking a change of scenery without the expense of longer-haul travel.

The initiative follows Aurigny’s re-entry into the market, where fares have materially reduced since the airline became custodian of the route.

The promotion forms part of the airline’s wider mission to help revitalise travel between Guernsey and Jersey, where passenger numbers have declined significantly in recent years. Since Aurigny’s return to the route, early signs of recovery have already emerged, with January bookings increasing by more than 10 per cent year on year.

Philip Saunders, Chief Commercial Officer at Aurigny, said: “Our ‘kids fly fare free’ offer is part of our ongoing commitment to revitalising the inter-island market and helping island communities stay connected – we very much hope families will enjoy this opportunity to reconnect with their roots across both Bailiwicks.”

The airline added that the promotion is designed to encourage families to make the most of travel opportunities between Jersey and Guernsey, helping to strengthen social, cultural and economic links between the islands.
