Charlie Walker and Clare Crowson will co-chair the board, which brings together industry leaders from across the Bailiwick to support the Committee in developing the islands’ tourism offering.
Ms Walker is the Managing Director at the Little Big Hotel Group in Guernsey, and has been involved with the TMB since it’s inception as its former vice-chair. Her first-hand experience in hospitality plays a vital role in ensuing the TMB is close to the realities of the industry.
Ms Crowson is the Senior Partnerships Manager at Premier Holidays, which works across the Channel Islands and the UK. Her involvement with the TMB brings an outside perspective to discussions and ensures the views of off-island parties are properly considered. Premier Holidays are also a member of the Guernsey Hospitality Association.
Ms Walker and Ms Crowson are replacing Hannah Beacom, former TMB chair, whose contracted term ended earlier this month. Ms Beacom led the TMB in its first years in developing a tourism framework for the Committee.
The current TMB model was introduced in 2023, with an agreement that it would be reviewed before the end of 2026. This process is underway, and the appointment of the new Chairs is on an interim basis until the review concludes.
Deputy Lee Van Katwyk, Tourism Lead for the Committee for Economic Development, and member of the Tourism Management Board, said:
“Firstly I’d like to thank Hannah Beacom for her hard work over the last three years to ensure the TMB was supporting the Committee in its aspirations for island tourism. Her support has been very useful since the election in allowing the Committee to hit the ground running.
“Between Charlie and Clare, I am confident that the TMB is being passed into good hands, and will continue to support the Committee effectively. It has always been important that the TMB represents a wide-range of voices, and having two experienced members of the industry co-chairing, both with very different perspectives, will – we think – allow the TMB to be as effective as possible.
“We are in the final year of the current agreement with the TMB, and therefore are required to review the role and structure of the body, and we are doing now. Charlie and Clare’s input into how we can make further improvements will be key to informing what the future looks like.
“I know I speak for the whole Committee when I say we look forward to working closely with them.”
Clare Crowson, Co-Chair of the Tourism Management Board, said:
“I’m extremely proud of the progress the Tourism Management Board has made in uniting the tourism industry. With the continued support and leadership of the Committee for Economic Development, the TMB is a vital forum for collaboration, ensuring industry insight directly informs strategic direction. Following a strong 2025 season, we are well positioned to build on this success and continue developing a sustainable, competitive tourism offering for the Bailiwick.”
Charlie Walker, Co-Chair of the Tourism Management Board, said:
“Ensuring that the future strategic aims of the Tourism Management Board are ambitious is my primary focus. With the strong support of the Committee for Economic Development, I'm certain that our resilient sector will collaborate greater than ever to achieve those goals.”
