The total number of visitors to Guernsey (excluding yacht and cruise ship passengers) during Q2 2026 reached 81,681 according to the latest quarterly Travel and Visitor Accommodation Bulletin. This compares with 82,226 in the same period in 2019, meaning a difference of approximately 500 visitors since before the pandemic.
The Bulletin also shows there were 35,477 staying leisure visitors during Q2 of this year. This compares with 30,128 people travelling for the same reason during Q2 in 2025; an 18% year-on-year increase.
Meanwhile, Guernsey’s net promoter score (NPS), which shows how likely visitors are to recommend the island to a friend or relative, has exceeded its previous highest ever score of 72 in Q1 this year, reaching 77 in Q2. The NPS for Q2 has been increasing since 2023, when it was at 64, to 68 in Q2 2025 and now 77.
The Bulletin also reveals that 15,967 day-trippers arrived via plane or ferry in Q2 2026, compared with 12,864 in same period in 2025; a 24% year-on-year increase.
More than a quarter (26%) of surveyed respondents in this latest report described the island as a beautiful, scenic, peaceful, friendly and lovely place to visit.
The occupancy rate of Guernsey’s visitor accommodation reached 84% in June this year; its highest since the same level of occupancy in August 2024. June’s occupancy saw a 5-percentage point increase from the same time in 2025 and 2024, and a 14-percentage point increase from June 2022.
64% of those surveyed stayed in hotels (42,313 people) representing a 12-percentage point increase compared to Q2 in 2025 and a 28-percentage point increase in Q2 2023.
This latest Bulletin provides information and statistics on travellers into and out of the island, as well as the accommodation they stayed in during their visit. A separate Report has also been issued today, which covers visitor expenditure.

“We’re almost back at pre-Covid numbers of visitors to the island, which, given the global economic challenges since, is a remarkable achievement for Guernsey’s tourism sector. Day-trippers and longer-term visitor numbers are up, our hotels are seeing more rooms booked at this time of year, and there is a growing sense of confidence across the industry that reflects a positive shift in demand for Guernsey as a destination. The publication of the Visitor Expenditure Survey provides further cause for optimism. Staying visitors are particularly valuable to the local economy, accounting for 92% of total visitor spending. As a result, the increase in staying visitor numbers is especially welcome.”
