Over 50 Events Announced for Guernsey’s First ‘Big Eat’ Food Festival This April

We now have more than 50 events taking place during the first Big Eat food festival in April.

We are very grateful to those who have shown their support for this new initiative to help us promote the Islands as a great destination for food – and increase the footfall into your businesses.

Latest confirmed events include those in Alderney and Herm, a Meet the Producers dinner at La Fregate Hotel, hosted by chef, author and TV personality, James Strawbridge, tours of the Guernsey Dairy, a Gelato Tasting Event at Cornerstone and Calligraphy Workshop & Cherry Blossom Tea at Renoir Tea Garden. We are working with many others across the industry to finalise more events in the coming weeks, so watch this space.

Thank you to Guernsey Ports for allowing us space at both the Airport and Port putting this Festival front and centre for visitors when they arrive.

Concurrently we are now working on our visiting journalist and influencer programme to maximise the opportunity, our first arrives in early March. As well as those coming here, we are working on an event to take a taste of Guernsey to London for a group event for food-specific journalists. We continue to work closely on packages with Brittany Ferries to promote to their UK and French audiences.

Information about the Festival has been shared with our friends at St Malo Tourism, and we are working on some upcoming joint press trips with them as well as investigating future chef exchanges. Leaflets will be distributed at upcoming trade events and a consumer facing one for hotel receptions.

So why participate?

  • Be part of a growing festival with strong partner engagement and confirmed activity.

  • Gain visibility through VisitGuernsey marketing, including increased prominence on our rebranded consumer website.

  • Benefit from ongoing PR activity, including visiting food journalists and influencers plus a London-based media event.

  • Feature on a dedicated festival website.

  • It's completely free to take part!

  • Benefit from strong media coverage already secured, with further exposure planned.

If you’re still considering getting involved, or would like to discuss ideas for events, menus, or experiences, we’d love to hear from you. Please email borbala.halasz@gov.gg.
