A new project encouraging visitors and Islanders to get out and about on the south coast has launched.
The Health Improvement Commission is behind the Guernsey Cliffline Project, which aims to encourage as many people as possible to enjoy Guernsey’s south coast cliffs – and all the wellbeing benefits that being active and outdoors offer.
The Cliffline runs from the Bathing Pools to Pleinmont and there is an online map and downloadable leaflet showing the full route which is divided into six sections. The first section, from the Bathing Pools to Jerbourg, is supported by a series of small waymarker posts at key junctions along the cliff path, helping walkers stay on track.
The routes are easy to follow and provide practical information on distance, elevation, facilities and points of interest, making it easier to explore the cliffs.
The project supports delivery across several local strategies, including the Active 8 Plan, the Healthier Weight Strategy, the Strategy for Nature, the Tourism Strategy and the Government Work Plan.
VisitGuernsey is supporting the project and working with the team to promote the new initiative, which will have a printed map in due course.
The Commission is keen to get feedback on the project, which you can provide here: Guernsey Cliffline – Fill in form
